THE LIGURIA VIA MARE CONSORTIUM

Founded in 2005 from the union of the two main operators of Genoa and the Western Riviera, the Liguria Via Mare Consortium has its roots in a project that began in 1998. That year, in collaboration with WWF Liguria, the first nature-focused excursions for cetacean watching were launched, with departures from Genoa, Varazze, and Savona—later extended to Loano in 2000.

Over the years, thanks to the experience gained, the synergy between crews, and the expansion of the observation area, the Consortium’s excursions have achieved increasingly high sighting rates, becoming a point of reference for whale watching in Liguria.
